Summer 2023 Wrap-up: Campers Achieve Goals, Build Confidence, Have FUN
This summer, we asked campers to set a goal that they hoped to achieve by the end of their camp session.
Some campers wanted to learn how to kayak. Others sought to earn a “Cleanest Cabin” award for the first time. Some were determined to be more open and communicate better. Others hoped to make new friends. And for some, the goal was simply to enjoy camp and have as much fun as possible.
Each and every day, campers achieved their goals. They kayaked across Trout Lake. They spoke up and found their voices. They laughed and played with new friends. They had more fun than they could have imagined.
They expressed their creativity by making bracelets and sculptures in the craft house. They challenged themselves by trying activities like archery, baseball, and surfing for the very first time.
They built confidence as they made new friends, found a sense of belonging by connecting with caring staff members, and through it all, they learned and grew!
Below are a few snapshots that show some of the ways that campers pursued and achieved their goals this summer. Thank you to the entire CSC community for showing campers that there’s no limit to what they can achieve!
“Something I learned from camp this year is one, to be more mature so I can be the best role model possible for younger campers. Another thing I learned was to use my voice more and to be less shy, this will help me in the future by being able to speak up not only for myself but for my friends and people who need someone to speak up for them.”
