GET TO KNOW CAMP

Explore Camp Susan Curtis!

Cabins

Campers live in cabins that are equipped with plumbing, electricity, and private bathroom/shower stalls. Each cabin has 8 – 10 same grade campers and 2 – 3 staff members. Each camper sleeps in a twin sized bunk bed and has 3 shelves for their belongings. Campers are always supervised when inside their cabin.

Alfond Lodge (Dining Hall/Gym)

Alfond Lodge is our largest building on campus, home to our dining hall and gym. At CSC, we eat family style! Campers eat three meals per day with their cabin mates and staff. Meals are kid friendly, nutritious, and designed to give campers the energy they need while at camp. Our gym is located one room over, where we play all sorts of games and sports, from floor hockey to basketball.

Waterfront

We are lucky to be located on the pristine Trout Pond, a quiet body of water that hosts activities such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, and more. All campers take a swim test at the beginning of their session, and have opportunities to “level up” and improve their skills through staff-led swim lessons.

Sports Field

Batter up! Our sports field has a baseball (or kickball) diamond for campers to sharpen their skills and practice teamwork. The field extends into a grassy area for other sports and games like soccer, frisbee, and capture the flag.

Trout Lodge/Craft House

The most historic building on camp, our original dining hall overlooking Trout Lake that now serves as our science and nature classroom, our library, and our history hall. Connected to Trout is our craft house, a popular spot for crafts, drawing, pottery, friendship bracelets, and more.

Amphitheater

A beautiful gathering space overlooking Trout Lake where we start and end each day as a full camp with our “Password” activity, an opportunity to reflect on our four character strengths we practice at CSC: Acceptance, Courage, Hope, and Integrity. During the day, we also use the space for various activities like yoga, outdoor painting/drawing, and more.

Campfire Circle

What’s summer camp without s’mores! We have a dedicated campfire circle, with three group campfires per session filled with skits and songs led by camp staff. Sing your heart out to “Take Me Home, Allen Road.”

“Camp is important for these kids because a lot of them go through hardships they shouldn’t have to go through as kids. I know when I was younger and going through those hardships, I felt like I had no one. But when I was at camp, I felt like I was being cared for, like I had somebody to talk to. And I think that’s very important. Because these campers deserve to have fun and deserve to have somebody comfort them.”
